Distance learning

Distance Learning is a flexible way of learning; sometimes it is called 'flexible' or 'open' learning. It is a programme of study that consists of video, printed and/or online material that allows students to study at home or at the office. Distance Learning programmes are ideal for people who have a full time job or other commitments, who cannot take time off to study full time. Distance learning is increasingly being looked at by many institutions as an economical way of expanding their activities, widening opportunities for students around the world, and making effective use of the new technologies which are rapidly emerging.
At Northumbria we are very active in developing distance learning courses as we believe that opportunities for learning should be available for everyone
